Strangeness production in NA49 experiment.
Charged and neutral strange particle production was studied by the NA49 experiment at CERN , in a region close to mid-rapidity, for central Pb+Pb collisions at 158 Gev per nucleon. An enhanced strange particle production relative to properly scaled elementary nucleon-nucleon collision is oserved. The enhancement is stronger for multistrange particles.
